Smarter Default Dates for New Transactions
What’s New:
We’ve updated how Digits selects the default date when you create a new transaction. Instead of always defaulting to the last day of the previous month (the old behavior), new transactions now default to the last day of the period you’re currently viewing. If that period ends in the future, we’ll default to today instead. For example:
- Viewing Q3 2025 → default date is September 30, 2025
- Viewing Q4 2025 → default date is today
When duplicating or reversing a transaction, the date will always default to today.

Why It Matters:
This makes it easier to keep transactions aligned with the period you’re working in, while avoiding accidental future-dated entries. You get smarter defaults that match your workflow—and less manual date editing along the way.
