Client removal now preserves data

What’s new:
Removing a firm-paid client no longer deletes their data.
When a firm removes a client, we now:
  • Disaffiliate the client from the firm
  • Move them to the Core for Business plan (they’ll only be charged once they log in and add billing)

Can the firm choose a different plan when removing a client?
Currently, no. Clients are defaulted to Core.
Can the client choose a different plan?
Currently, no; however, they can reach out to support to downgrade to Essentials after billing is set up, if they'd like
What happens if a client with no assigned users is disaffiliated?
The client organization and legal entity are orphaned but will remain in the system.
Why it matters
You can safely remove clients without risking permanent data loss. Clients keep access to their data and can transition smoothly to their own plan, reducing friction for both firms and operators.
